Grandma Elaine's Belizean Birthday Dinner
After everyone arrived at the villa, we took Grandma Elaine out for a Belizean birthday dinner. She was so happy to be together with the whole family (Feb. 24, 2008).
Paul and noodles.
Julia and noodles.
Scott and Grandma.
Michelle, Eliot, Paul.
Julia and Scott.
All the waiters etc. sang Happy Birthday to Grandma.
She got some help blowing out the candle from her two favorite little people. Make a wish, Grandma!Friday, July 04, 2008
Journey to Ambergris Caye
It was a long journey to Ambergris Caye, the Belizean barrier island, but we made it! First we left SFO in the middle of the night...then landed in San Salvador in the morning...then took another flight to Belize City...then a short jump to the town of San Pedro on Ambergris (February 2008).
Pure sunshine!
Our final leg of the journey was a boat ride from San Pedro to our "villa" about four miles away.
Greg on the boat.
Julia couldn't wait to get in the water!Wednesday, July 02, 2008
First Sleepover
Julia and Katie had their first sleepover at our house in mid-February. They were SO excited.
Julia got to borrow Katie's nightgown, and Katie slept on Julia's new trundle bed (a birthday present from Grandma Elaine). They watched a movie and stayed up until 10 pm...in the morning they were pretty tired and actually had a big argument about who was keeping the other one up. They had fun, but we'll probably wait a little while before trying it again.Handling Hogsy
Julia and Katie Go to the Zoo
In February 2008, Julia and Katie went to "Critter Crafts" at the Oakland Zoo. The theme was flamingos.
The girls made valentines for each other.
They had a great time on the plane ride. They were pulling on their joysticks and chanting, "Up!!!!!! Down!!!! Up!!!!! Down!!!!!" It was hard to take a good picture...
Katie does a pretty convincing tiger imitation.
