Swimming at Grandma's Pool
Julia and Mom visited Grandma Elaine in New York in mid-August. One of the first things we did was jump into the pool in her development. Julia LOVES to swim.
Cousin Paul went swimming for the first time! His legs started kicking the second they touched the water. Aunt Michelle was so proud!
Sands Point Preserve
Grandma Elaine took Julia (and mom) to see a robotic dinosaur exhibit at the Sands Point Preserve. She liked the gift shop a lot.
Afterward we went for a walk in the preserve, and Julia put a maple seed pod on her nose for the first time.

Julia loves the Manhasset playground near Grandma Elaine's house in New York, especially the "flying" swing. We visited in August.
Cute cousins
We went to a birthday party for Grandma Blanche at Aunt Marcy and Uncle Jerry's house on Aug. 12, and Julia got to know some of her cousins better: Amanda and Alana.
Julia's newest cousin and babies
We always go to Uncle Eliot and Aunt Michelle's apartment for Chinese food when we're in New York. At the end of our August 2006 trip, Julia introduced Grandma to one of her babies, Ribbet-Ribbet.
She put Cow-Cow and Ribbet-Ribbet to bed.
Her new cousin Paul is getting big, and he's awfully cute!

Cooling off on a hot day
During the big heat wave in July, Michelle and Janet took the kids to the water park in Antioch. Julia helped give Natalia her lunch, and had ice cream with Nico.
Corn-ily
Julia adopted a family of corn. She dresses and feeds them, reads books and puts them to bed in a little tent in her room.
Girls' weekend in Gualala
In late June, Mom and Julia left dad at home and took off for a "Girls' Weekend" with Mollie, Eva and Charlotte. Julia and Charlotte did a lot of drawing.
Except that there was one boy....Eva's little baby, Theo. The little girls took good care of him.
We all climbed to the top of the Point Arena lighthouse -- 145 steps! Julia wanted to be carried at the end, but with some encouragement she made it all by herself.
Julia instructed Charlotte in one of her favorite crimes: removing sensitive plant species from state parks.
It was pretty foggy on the coast, but we all stayed warm in the hottub.
A time honored tradition: ice cream in Guerneville on the way home.
