The squirrel and the sparrow and the moth and the bee...

...and Julia, were having a party in the loquat tree. The one across the street from our house had tons of fruit in May. Dad helped Julia harvest some.
Mom's birthday cake

Julia is an expert cake-decorator. She worked really hard on Mom's cake (May 18, 2007).

I wish I was 34 again!
Camping with Katie

Finally, the camping season opener. Julia and mom went to China Camp with Katie and Alicia in May 2007.

It's all about the marshmallows!
Dog show at Fairyland

In May 2007 we went to a birthday party at Fairyland in Oakland. Julia valiently volunteered to help out in a dog show.

In an amazing, death-defying leap, the dog cleared all the kids!

We liked this act a lot.
Kitty puppet

After swim class at the YMCA in May 2007, one of the other moms entertained Julia.
Gift from Aunt Claire

Grandma Elaine's friend Claire gave Julia a dry erase book about animals during our April trip to New York. Since mom is so lax with her "blogging," I can report that Julia has spent many many hours since then working on it.
Flower pillow from Aunt Dolores

Julia has always loved the little heart pillow that Aunt Dolores Reiman made for mom years ago (out of Grandma Mary's scarf). She asked for a flower pillow, and drew a picture to send to Aunt Dolores.

We didn't get to see Aunt Dolores and Uncle Stuart during our April 2007 visit to New York, but Dolores sent the pillow soon after. Julia loves it!
Show in Port Washington

Grandma Elaine furthered Julia's cultural enlightenment by taking her to see a performance of "Harry the Dirty Dog" in Port Washington (mom's home town).
Visiting Beth and Dana

During our April visit to New York, we visited Beth and Dana (twin 3-year-old daughters of mom's friend Debbie).

We tried, but it proved impossible to get a good picture of all three of them.
Lunch @ the New Leaf Cafe, Ft. Troyon Park

On a rainy day in April 2007, we met Cousin Marilyn at the New Leaf Cafe near Eliot and Michelle's apartment in Inwood, New York.

Expatriot Uncle Scott was in town, too.

Aunt Michelle, Paul and Uncle Eliot. Paul is getting so big! Afterward we visited the Cloisters.
